ELTPros is a job board and a professional community for English teachers in the Dominican Republic — and only for English teachers. It is built here, in Santo Domingo, by people who work in the same classrooms.
Why it exists
English teaching jobs in this country are advertised in Facebook groups and forwarded down WhatsApp chains. The listing rarely says what it pays. You send your CV into an inbox and usually never hear anything back — not a no, not an acknowledgement, nothing. Some of the listings are not real jobs at all.
Schools have the mirror-image problem. A vacancy goes out and brings back a pile of CVs in a dozen formats, most from people who do not teach English, with no way to tell a Cambridge-certified teacher with eight years of secondary experience from someone who once taught a summer course.
Both sides are looking for each other in the same small country and failing to meet. That is the whole problem ELTPros is trying to solve.
What we do differently
Four rules, enforced by the platform rather than requested politely.
Every vacancy states its pay
An employer may hide the exact figure, and then you see a band — but never nothing. This one rule is the main reason a teacher trusts a board over a Facebook group.
You always find out where you stand
Rejection is one tap for an employer and the reason is optional, but silence is not something the interface offers. When a vacancy closes, everyone still waiting is answered.
Your CV is not browsable
It can be read by you, by an employer at an organisation you actually applied to, and by nobody else — whatever your profile visibility is set to.
A new organisation is checked first
An organisation's first vacancy is reviewed by a person before it appears anywhere. It is the only real defence a small board has against scam listings.
Only English teachers
A general job board has to describe every profession, so it describes none of them well. Here, a profile has a place for your Cambridge certification, the age groups you teach and whether you work online — and an employer can filter on all three. Narrow is the point.
How much of it exists
ELTPros is new, and it would be strange to pretend otherwise. Here is exactly where it stands.

Who is behind it
I teach English in Santo Domingo, and I also direct a small English institute — which means I have spent years on both sides of this. I have sent applications into silence, and I have published a vacancy and watched thirty unusable CVs arrive.
ELTPros is the thing I wanted to exist. It is built and run by one person, in the evenings, and it grows in the direction that the teachers and schools using it push it. If something here is wrong, missing, or annoying, write to me — that message reaches a person, and it is genuinely how this gets better.
